Reischauer Center Student Worker – Now HIRING
The Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies will be hiring a student worker to assist with office duties, event planning, and editing documents for publication. The student worker will directly report to Reischauer Center Director, Dr. Kent Calder, and Program Coordinator, Neave Denny.
The core of the work will be dedicated to editing monographs and documents for publication as well as formatting and editing documents for events. Therefore, the student worker must have exceptional English writing and editing skills. Experience with mail chimp, graphic design software, and social media posting is a plus.
An interest in East Asian cultures, current events, and policies is a plus. The student will be exposed to a number of important topics on relating to East Asia and Eurasia through our seminars and conferences as well as in interacting with our Visiting Scholars from Japan.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Editing and formatting monographs documents for
- Making flyers for events
- Sending out invitations for events and hanging
flyers around campus
- Ordering catering and greeting caterer for
- Updating social media account and creating
write-ups of recent events
- Supporting Program Coordinator with office tasks
such as walking to the print shop
- Salary of $15/hour
- Networking with Japanese Scholars and East Asian
- Meals are often provided at events
Start Date and Working Hours are Negotiable and on a need basis (most likely 10-18 hours). Ideal start date is September 4th.
