Economics Tutor for Online Course Position
Job DescriptionThe Master of Arts in Global Policy (MAGP) seeks a tutor to assist students with our introductory, online course "Introduction to International Economics."
The course is designed to quickly get our MAGP students up to speed with the basics of microeconomic and macroeconomic theory that underpin International Economics. The goal is to provide students with the core knowledge needed in more advanced economic courses at SAIS – the same knowledge needed to fully appreciate economically oriented news outlets like The Financial Times, The Economist, and The Wall Street Journal. Think of this as a course in economic literacy, covering the essentials that are typically introduced in intermediate micro- and macro-economics.
The TA will help students: Understand Supply and Demand; Define Welfare Analysis; Outline Production and Utility; General Equilibrium Analysis; Explain the Rationale for Trade; Identify Key Macroeconomic Variables; Understand the Determination of Exchange Rates; and Explain Open Economy Policy Analysis.
The TA will likely hold weekly review sessions (in-person and/or virtually) and should be available to meet with students one-on-one if needed at SAIS.
Interested students should submit a resume to firstname.lastname@example.org.
