Social Media Assistant Position
The Office of Communications, Marketing, & Strategic Initiatives at Johns Hopkins SAIS in DC is seeking students to help manage its social media across a variety of social platforms. If you are passionate about social media and have a strong interest in engaging with the school's community in order to enhance its global brand, we want to hear from you!
The position responsibilities mainly include posting updates to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram; interviewing and writing online student and faculty profiles; contributing to photo campaigns; live Tweeting events; coordinating with departments and centers to obtain content for social media posts; and assistance with video production.
• A current student with availability throughout the remainder of the academic year.
• Strong oral and written communications skills and attention to detail necessary for writing and editing assignments on the web, as well as for communicating effectively with the office’s internal and external constituencies. Photography and graphic design skills a plus.• Knowledge of and/or experience in the workings of a communications office (media relations, special events planning and publicity, publications development, social media, web/multimedia content development and marketing/advertising), news organizations and preferably, international affairs.
