ILAW Program Student Assistant, Fall 2019 & Spring 2010 Position

Job Description

Seeking Student Assistant for the International Law and Organizations (ILaw) Program, up to 15 hours per week, Fall 2019 & Spring 2020


Working under the supervision of Professor Steven Schneebaum, the ILaw student assistant will help with the following tasks:


  1. Arranging logistics for the Human Rights Clinic’s field trip to the Republic of Georgia in January 2020;
  2. Assisting Prof. Magraw in the ILaw portion of arrangements for the Starr Grant trip to the Maldives during spring break in March 2020;
  3. Reviewing and organizing paper and electronic files in the ILaw suite, deleting/discarding/ recycling as appropriate;
  4. Setting up coherent and user-friendly systems for organizing papers and electronic records;
  5. Assisting the Student International Law Society with arrangements for its programming;
  6. Being available to the adjunct faculty to address logistical issues as they arise;
  7. Maintaining lists of ILaw concentrators, minors, alumni, and other interested parties, and periodically distributing notices and other things to them;
  8. Providing miscellaneous administrative support as needed;
  9. Handling office procedures (phone, greeting visitors, etc.) and being the “go-to” person to whom students with questions are directed;
  10. Helping to establish a social media presence;
  11. Working on a periodic newsletter for students, friends, and alumni;
  12. Assisting with programming, and in particular, helping to plan for and organize a high-profile event;
  13. Working with Alumni Affairs to rebuild the Program’s alumni connections;
  14. Providing research assistance to Professor Schneebaum as needed.
