Impact Evaluation Research Assistants Job Position

Job Description

The African Studies Program seeks 2-3 Research Assistants to work on an impact evaluation of a women’s economic development program in four post-conflict countries in Africa for the 2020/2021 academic year. The project seeks to evaluate the impact of the women’s economic development intervention established in 2007 in Rwanda, DRC, Sudan and Nigeria. The Research Assistants will work with the PI to develop and implement the evaluation protocol, which includes the project charter, conceptual framework, evaluation design and tool development, data collection, analysis and interpretation; produce the evaluation reports and support its dissemination. The selected candidates will have opportunities to travel to the research sites as needed and specified by the PI as part of their duties in the course of the evaluation project.

Skills:

1. Expertise Familiarity with different approaches to evaluation, such as theory-based, realistic, experimental, and mixed method impact evaluations including some experience of qualitative data collection and analysis techniques (strongly preferred).

2. Technical expertise/familiarity in major aspect of data collection and analysis, such as: quasi- experimental methods (strongly preferred), RCTs, other qualitative methods; survey design; survey sampling; and quantitative statistical analysis (strongly preferred).

3. Strong analytical and writing skills.

4. Good communication and interpersonal skills, e.g. proven ability to work in a team, including people from other cultures.

5. Fluency in written and spoken English.

Salary:

The Research Assistants will work between 10-20 hours per week as determined by the PI and will earn between $15/hr. - $30/hr. based on experience. Interested and qualified individuals should submit a cover letter and resume by February 20
