MAGP Events Student Assistant Position
The Master of Arts in Global Policy (MAGP) program at JHU’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, DC is seeking an organized, industrious and self-motivated student to oversee the catering and other logistical requirements during MAGP weekend classes, seminars and other special events.
The Events Student Assistant reports to MAGP’s program coordinator and coordinates with MAGP’s catering providers to ensure that the meal catering is properly set-up for MAGP’s cohort and faculty during their classes on alternating weekends (Fridays and Saturdays only) as well as other program-related events. Other related tasks may be assigned. The successful applicant should meet the following requirements:
- Reside in close proximity to the SAIS campus in Dupont Circle (Washington, DC)
- Be a prompt “early-riser” and have excellent time-management skills and attention to detail
- Strong customer service orientation
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to bend, lift and walk with up to 20 lbs. of goods
The position requires the availability to work from 7am to 3pm on alternating Fridays and Saturdays during Summer 2020 and incoming School Year 2020-2021 with additional hours for special events as needed. The position requires an 11-month commitment (June 2020 to May 2021) with a possible extension for the Summer of 2021 depending on availability and performance. Salary rate is $14/hour. Applicants must be matriculating Johns Hopkins University students and eligible to work within the JHU system. International students are welcome to apply.
