Economics TA (International Monetary Policy & Banking) - Dec-Feb, SAIS MAGP Position

Job Description

The SAIS Master of Arts in Global Policy (MAGP) is seeking a teaching assistant (TA) for Dr. Rob Kahn’s Monetary Policy and International Banking course for its Winter Module (December 2020-February 2021).

The MAGP is a full-time program at SAIS for mid-career professionals that meets on alternating weekends over five ten-week modules.

The course will meet on Saturday mornings on the following dates: December 5 (9am - 12pm), December 19 (9am - 12pm), January 9 (9am - 12pm), January 23 (9am - 12pm), and February 6 (9am- 12pm).

The TA will assist Dr. Kahn during class and work with students on homework assignments. Deep knowledge of international monetary policy and basic excel modeling is required.

FACULTY BIO: Dr. Kahn is Director for Global Strategy and Global Macro at the Eurasia Group. Previously, he was the Steven A. Tananbaum Senior Fellow for International Economics at the Council on Foreign Relations. Before joining CFR, he was a senior strategist with Moore Capital Management, a senior adviser in the financial policy department at the World Bank, and he held senior staff positions at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Citigroup, the U.S. Treasury, the Council of Economic Advisers, and the Federal Reserve. His areas of expertise include international economic policy, debt restructuring and debt policy, and financial markets. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
