HNC Admissions Student Manager Position
The Hopkins-Nanjing Center (HNC) Washington Office is hiring an Admissions Student Manager for the 2021-2022 academic year. This position will work closely with the HNC Washington Office Director and HNC Deputy Director to delegate tasks to the HNC’s team of student workers. This includes creating and gathering content for the HNC social media and blog presence, ensuring event coverage, and communicating with prospective students.
Assist with HNC prospective student communications via email, Zoom, and other platforms.
Participate in virtual information sessions with prospective students, conduct admissions interviews with HNC applicants, and moderate admitted student Facebook groups.
Write blog posts for HNC blog about your experiences as an HNC student, including academics, student life, events, etc. Conduct interviews with alumni, current students, and faculty for HNC blog and SAIS website. Must submit at least one blog post per month.
Assign diverse range of blog topics to HNC student workers. Ensure at least two blogs are available for posting on HNC blog and social media each month, including one alumni profile.
Assist with managing HNC’s social media presence. Must submit at least one social media post per week.
Proofread blog and social media content before submission to HNC Washington Office Director.
Oversee the delegation of administrative duties under the direction of HNC Washington Office Director.
Assist with various database management projects, such as HNC alumni database, as needed.
Attend monthly check-ins with HNC Washington Office Director and HNC Deputy Director.
May be asked to assist with HNC event support and coordination.
Other tasks as assigned.
Ability to share experiences with HNC community and prospective students in a professional manner.
Ability to work well with others and manage competing priorities.
Willingness to independently develop engaging social media and blog content.
Flexible schedule to assist with occasional afterhours events and information sessions.
Strong writing skills are required.
Must be enrolled as an HNC student for the entirety of the 2021-2022 academic year.
Must have completed and submitted FAFSA form by the time of application.
Previous communications and/or blogging experience preferred.
Previous admissions experience preferred.
Maximum of 15 hours per week at the SAIS student worker rate of $15.20/hour.
