HNC Peer Writing Assistant Position
Hopkins-Nanjing Peer Writing Assistants- Nanjing, China
The Hopkins-Nanjing Center (HNC) is hiring 1-2 peer writing assistants for the 2020-2021 academic year! Peer writing assistants hold one-on-one sessions with any member of the HNC community who wishes to discuss his or her written work. Writing assistants must be ready to discuss strategies for writing in a variety of discursive, and must be well-versed in English grammar, citing requirements, and paper formatting.
Attend all scheduled shifts, on time, either in-person or virtually
Assist students with writing tasks and paper editing on a walk-in basis
Learn about the different formatting and citing styles as necessary
May occasionally be asked to contribute blog posts for the HNC blog about your experiences in Nanjing including academics, student life, events, etc.
Must have completed and submitted FAFSA information by July 1?(https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa)
Previous writing center or tutoring experience preferred
Strong English-language writing skills
Enthusiastic about helping classmates improve their writing
Self-starter and adaptable; willing to take on new responsibilities should they arise
2-6 hours per week at the SAIS student worker rate of $15.00/hour
